Please introduce yourself and let me know how it all began with the band? And what stands behind N.T.Ä?
We are from Saarbrücken, Southwest Germany) and N.T.Ä. stands for Nadine Nevermore (Vox & Bass), Tommy Cräck (Guitar) and Äxel Äxport (Drums & Backing Vox). We are playing together since about 10 years and during this time, we changed from band members to friends. But we left our former band one by one and after that we noticed that something was missing, very badly… and so we finally formed N.T.Ä. in 2019.
Describe your sound and explain why I should listen to YOUR band at all cost?
Our sound is somewhere between streetpunk, hardcore and melodic punk rock but with a darker note and in combination with the rough and scratchy voice of Nadine every song tells another story of dealing with all kinds of challenges in life.
Lyrical and musical inspirations/influences? How important are the lyrics for you? Are there any specific messages or thoughts you try to develop and share through your lyrics?
Äxel started years ago from a true Metalhead with a big Love to the NWOBHM underground Stuff to the Punk scene, Tommy always like Deutschpunk/ Cräck Rock Steady and since a few Years the Ghost/ MCC and some other Metal stuff. Nadine is mostly into music of punk bands like Descendents, The Distillers, Mclusky, Petrol Girls, Steakknife, Strike Anywhere, EA80, Pascow or The Vageenas. But also, still into gothic or wave stuff since she was 15. So we’ve got a lot of different inspirations.
The specific message of our songs is the singing about stuff from a women’s perspective and not the big male Rockstar perspective like every Band the last 40 years. Nadine started playing bass in bands exactly 20 years ago, but she was no singer in the early years. And in those years, she made a lot of experiences that a worth singing about and she is able to do it now. So almost all of her lyrics are biographically inspired and the message of every song is important, especially for her.
About your latest release?
Our latest release was our first album in January 2024 which is available on CD, LP and Tape. Every step of the album is d.i.y., for example the artwork: Nadine bought a notebook, all lyrics are handwritten not typed, added with drawings and every page was photographed and not scanned. And when you listen to the album you can hear real people playing real instruments ;-) (That's AWESOME ! Ed.)
Future plans?
Like we did until now: touring and song writing.
Your most insane dream with the band would be?
To do exactly what we do now: Touring, playing shows, meeting nice people with a passion for music all over the world, visiting nice places & recording music together for the next 10, 20, 30, …, years :)
Your BEST & WORST concert - as a band - and why?
We want to answer this question from two perspectives:
Perspective „Band“: The best shows for us as a band where the „big“ shows with 1000+ people in the audience in the early phase of the band, like the support show for PASCOW in Saarbrücken or the POD PAROU Fest in Czech Republic, because of these shows we got a big reach in a short time, specially at the really beginning of the band, which helps us a lot to get more shows, record deal, more attention, and so on.
Perspective „Musician“: For us as individual musicians we like fully packed small squad or bar shows without big stages and technical stuff where the audience is more „face to face“ with us. These shows got a special atmosphere and vibe you can´t complain.
Next live-appearance(s)?
Next week we celebrate our two-years-on-stage anniversary at the legendary Ruhrpott Rodeo, the biggest Punk Festival in germany. After that we headline the Punk Night Overdose Festival in Poland on Sunday and finish our Festival Season to go on tour together with NYC Punk Legends THE CASUALTIES for 10 days across Germany.
Some words on your local scene - bands you're friends with and you'd like to name?
Don´t fight each other within the punk scene and don´t divide our unity. Unity and solidarity are our biggest strength. Stand together against the right-wing shit and nazi scum!
Last word is yours…

Born 1969, grew up with the NWOBHM sounds, musically educated with cult french magazines that were ENFER and METAL ATTACK, definitely nailed to the style when "The Number Of The Beast" by IRON MAIDEN was released... From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI... and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)... Passion & curiosity grew up as years went by ... Fate was SEALED... no turning back ! No Music = No Life !
