MONKEYS ON MARS "Monkeys On Mars" 2025

MONKEYS ON MARS is the result of a collaboration between two giants: MARS RED SKY, a French pioneer of psychedelic stoner rock, and MONKEY3, Swiss experts in heavy psych prog. It should be noted that this is not a split album, but a genuine collaboration between the two bands—a true team effort with the total involvement of each of its members... resulting in two long tracks (11'08 and 13'15) with diverse and varied facets, incredibly rich and captivating from start to finish... These two tracks are a journey through space and time... we let ourselves be carried away by the melodies, the ethereal voices, the power of the riffs, we are caught up in a vortex, inexorably, without being able to offer any resistance... the different musical phases we go through are like places to explore, sometimes reassuring, sometimes disturbing... We never know what stage or destination comes next... and yet we willingly let ourselves be carried away, spellbound, captivated to the utmost!
Precise, meticulous, fluid... the transitions are incredible! When the last note is played, “Seasonal Pyres” leaves you completely amazed, emerging from this completely immersive experience as if transformed... ... 
Then we set off again with “Hear The Call”... very 70s prog-rock in its opening, with a certain PINK FLOYD influence... the build-up is more direct than on the first track... we move towards very stoner sounds with magnificent oriental touches... Just like on “Seasonal Pyres,” there are surprising breaks and tempo changes... the next stage... and then... everything stops to give way to disturbing atmospheres based on lead bass, overlaid with layers of synths and very rich, dense guitar harmonics... We're off on a series of colossal, massive riffs! The notable difference is that “Hear The Call” is instrumental, but it's no less interesting for that, with the vocals replaced by arrangements and absolutely breathtaking atmospheric work... the music takes on its full meaning, even when the words are missing... then comes the “terminus”... We try to land safely, weightlessness has done its work, we stammer, we hesitate, unsure if we have fully absorbed everything from this journey, so rich in destinations and emotions... The return to normality will be very bland... While we wait for the next “odyssey”...
