BOBBY SINGER "Perspectives" 2026

With “Perspectives,” Olivier—aka Bobby Singer—releases his second album, proving once again that a lone force can strike harder than an entire battalion. But let’s set the record straight: calling this project a “one-man band” completely misses the point. It’s a band all on its own—a visceral, living entity where every instrument and every jagged riff is forged from start to finish by a single creator, all while carrying the immense weight of a collective uprising. Sonically, we find ourselves in the midst of high-caliber post-hardcore/screamo, halfway between the emotional urgency of Touche Amoré, the narrative catharsis of La Dispute, and the crushing melancholy of bands like Envy; this album hits like a freight train.
What elevates this album to the status of a striking mirror of our times are the lyrics—sung entirely in French—which add an intimate and raw touch that goes straight to the heart.
Bringing deeply rooted pain, crushing disillusionment, and bitter realism to the surface, Singer dissects the absurdity of our times with chilling precision: the abuse of power (“Marionnettes”), the looming ecological catastrophe hurtling toward us, and the agonizing quest for meaning—in our own lives—echoing the haunting urgency of “Une vie avant la mort.” Amid this gloom, tracks like “Les insouciances perdues” capture the slow and tragic erasure of our individual identities under the crushing weight of modern society. Dark, uncompromising, and deeply human, "Perspectives" is a vital wake-up call for all those who refuse to succumb to nothingness.
