"Never judge a book on its cover" ... you know the adage, right ? To be honest, when i first saw this record and its artwork, I really thought of another (shoudl i add "one more") death/black metal band... I was about not giving a fuck about it until a friend of mine warmly recommended me this album.. and to my surprise, this band is absolutely KILLER and this is an album I always listen with a great pleasure on a regular basis now ! The style is nevertheless not "death/black".. but THRASH fuckin' METAL with a huge influence from the US style with a bit Hard-Core/Metal touches in... Think of bands like early TESTAMENT, early MEGADETH, early HEATHEN.. ATOMIC DEATH have that powerful yet melodious vibe in their music but they also mix it with more aggressive, abrassive and rumbling facets from the Hard-Core/Crossover movment and bands like AGNOSTIC FRONT, CRO-MAGS, HIRAX... and the result is BRILLIANT ! It's musically and technically well in place, the tracks are powerful and catchy, all well-structured with kick-ass breaks or tempo-changes.. you can be bored when listening to that album ! Neck-breaking rhythms, solid guitar riffs, they know how to thrash !
Vocally .. this is also something worth mentioning - Singer Feiz knows how to vary his vocal lines without losing in intensity, thumb up for sure, 'cos he sings aggressively but still you can understand every word he sings, which is fuckin' pleasant I must say - when alot of singers tend to "vomit" their words..
To make this short... this is surely one of the best releases to come out of the underground in recent years - it'd be a shame to ignore it longer !
Born 1969, grew up with the NWOBHM sounds, musically educated with cult french magazines that were ENFER and METAL ATTACK, definitely nailed to the style when "The Number Of The Beast" by IRON MAIDEN was released... From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI... and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)... Passion & curiosity grew up as years went by ... Fate was SEALED... no turning back ! No Music = No Life !
