Post-core quintet POINT MORT Unveils The First Track & Video From Its New Album “Live at Hellfest”, Set For Release This Fall: “CELEBRITY SPIN” !

For the second time in its career, the popcore metal band POINT MORT took the stage at the prestigious Hellfest. Last June, on the Warzone stage, the band shone and delivered a memorable performance. This performance will become a live album and video, set for release on November 13, 2026, via Almost Famous. The first single “Celebrity Spin” kicks off the plunge into the petals of Hell.

A nod to Hole’s seminal album and its muse, Courtney Love, POINT MORT’s new track “Celebrity Spin” highlights the paradox of the star system as it relates to the artist as a human being. This song, created specifically for their concert at Hellfest 2026, served as the grand finale of their performance. A moment of pure generosity, sharing, flowers, and confetti. A dizzying circle pit, a spotlight on a prestigious stage that can make your head spin. It’s the dichotomy between the artist’s place in the spotlight, the flashes of fleeting fame, and then the return to normal life.
POINT MORT’s track “Celebrity Spin” was recorded by Olivier Millot and Simon Belot, mixed by Etienne Clauzel, and mastered by Thibault Chaumont (Deviant Lab). The video was directed by Jessica Salitra and Damien Hubert.

The Parisian post-core quintet POINT MORT surprises with its extreme sensitivity, delivered in an abrupt and instinctive manner. In 2017, the band entered Midilive Studio in Villetaneuse (the former legendary studio of Vogue Records) to record the five tracks of their debut EP, the sinuous and labyrinthine “Look at the Sky,” in a single day. The EP was mixed by Sylvain Biguet and mastered by Nick Zampiello at Studio New Alliance East (Cambridge, USA). This first foray into the studio defined the project’s modus operandi, which would henceforth prioritize this sense of sincerity and urgency.
In 2019, bolstered by this first experience without a safety net, POINT MORT released a second EP, “R(h)ope,” produced by Amaury Sauvé and mastered by Thibault Chaumont. A global pandemic later, the band returned to the studio, still under the guidance of the Sauvé/Chaumont duo, with whom they’ve remained ever since. Once again driven by the demands of live recording, POINT MORT released their debut album, “Pointless…,” in April 2022. This album showcases a now-confident and fully realized artistic identity that boldly clashes styles and techniques with both intensity and coherence.
Devastating on stage, the five musicians surprise audiences with their understated yet uncompromising performances, where emotion finds an unexpected path between bursts of raw energy. Their undeniable stage presence has earned them spots on prestigious stages like Hellfest (Valley, 2022) and Motocultor (Main Stage, 2017), as well as a tour of Cuban clubs during the Brutal Fest Tour in 2018.
POINT MORT’s second album, “Le point de non-retour,” is set for release on April 25, 2025, via Almost Famous. It showcases a blend of styles that is as daring as it is masterful. The interplay of contrasts, rhythmic shifts, and range of vocal techniques used underscore dark themes that echo the distinctive characteristics of black metal. The resulting “blackened popcore” is intense, chaotic, and vulnerable. Pop, rock, electro, and even hip-hop are bound together by a raw, hard-hitting hardcore energy.
Amid a packed concert schedule, they return to Hellfest for the second time in 2026, at a much more favorable time slot than the previous year.
They take the Warzone Stage with their signature elegance and ferocity, showering it with flowers, confetti, and generosity. The performance will be released as a live album and video on November 13, 2026, via Almost Famous.

From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI, AGNOSTIC FRONT... quickly leading him to explore THRASH METAL and CROSSOVER styles (SLAYER, EXODUS, KREATOR, VOIVOD, ANTHRAX, S.O.D., TESTAMENT...) and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)... Not to mention the DEATH-METAL/GRIND-CORE wave (DEATH, MORBID ANGEL, MORGOTH, NAPALM DEATH, BOLT THROWER...)...
