Following "Ten Of Swords" comes the second single: On September 24, 2026, the Zurich-based metalcore/hardcore band EXPELLOW released "Embers" with an official music video. After the rather metalcore-focused "Ten Of Swords," "Embers" hits harder and brings a solid dose of hardcore and Nu Metal groove.
Mik (Vocals): "With "Embers" we wanted to venture stylistically into new territory. As kids of the 90s and 2000s, we love Crossover and Nu Metal, and finally with "Embers" we had a track that allowed this experiment to happen. Even if – or maybe especially because – the rap parts are something totally new for us, we had a lot of fun during the production and recording process. The song has real energy, and we're very much looking forward to throwing it live. We think Embers will bring plenty of groove and probably account for one or two headaches. A little homage to the best time growing up, a touch of Nu Metal, Crossover and Hardcore – and 100% Expellow DNA."
The video was shot at the same location and same weekend as the previous single "Ten Of Swords," once again directed by Mirko Witzki (Witzki Vision) at Rusty Reel Studios.
In 2025, Expellow became the first Swiss band ever to win the international Wacken Metal Battle. In 2026, the Zurich-based metalcore/hardcore quintet celebrates its 20th anniversary (founded in 2006), with the same lineup since 2015. With over 100 shows in clubs, at festivals, and on tour, they have established themselves in the Swiss scene and beyond. The finale of their anniversary year comes on November 28th with the Heartline Festival at Dynamo Saal in Zurich, which the band created themselves. "Embers" is the last release before this highlight.
