TREPONEM PAL "Screamers" 2023

A new TREPONEM PAL album NEVER goes unnoticed... a new TREPONEM PAL album is NEVER an ordinary release...
TREPONEM PAL is much more than a name... it has become over the years a REFERENCE in terms of INDUSTRIAL-METAL, a band one can name without any complex alongside international glories such as KILLING JOKE, GODFLESH, THE YOUNG GODS, PRONG, MINISTRY... therefore a new TREPONEM PAL album is always a highly anticipated event.. I
It took 6 years for "Screamers" to succeed to "Rockers Vibes"... The wait was long... The single of the same name "Screamers" would however reassure us about the health of the Beast and its ability to always deliver this particular power... Indeed this first fire is direct, like an uppercut that we would not have seen it come, the Beast is in good shape, the Beast is angry and is far from having said its last word ! This first single is also the opportunity to notice the return of the original guitarist Laurent BIZET who had officiated on the first album as well as on "Aggravation"... From this first title, we feel a kind of "back-to-the-roots" will, in the vein of "Excess & Overdrive", it pulses & hammers without respite with these hypnotic guitars and this recognizable voice of Marco - hoarse, serious andthreatening.
The album starts with "The Fall", a very heavy title, rather unhealthy and threatening.. the end seems near with this heady "Babylon Burn Burn Babylon - The Fall !"... We feel carried away as in an infernal spiral towards the inevitable... it's repetitive, haunting and we feel that in 2023, TREPONEM PAL still has a lot to say and that they are reconnecting with the original aggressiveness, we feel it pissed off, ready to do battle with however, always the intelligence to surprise with caustic titles such as "Out Of Mind" and "Earthquake" (with very industrial hints), "Too Late" and "Cosmic Rider" and this cold, hovering, hypnotic and uneasy side ("Too Late" reminding me a lot of the YOUNG GODS), or even "Badass Sound System", "Psychedelic Trip" or "Machine" which groove tirelessly... The sublime "Crazy Woman" which by its vibes takes you high, very high - a real cosmic trip ! ... to finally hit you with a hypnotic "Heavy Load" with its heady loops and riffs...
6 years... the wait was long, but listening to this "Screamers", it was worth it... TREPONEM PAL, after 30 years of career, signs here one of its greatest successes !
