DEMANDE A LA POUSSIERE (Fr) - 16.02.2022 - Le Forum - Vauréal (Fr)

Throwback to my evening yesterday at Le Forum de Vauréal (also called "the biggest of the small venues" and it's justified - you have everything you need in terms of gear for quality performances with the intimacy
bonus due to its size - in a word, "perfect" ! ) for the "End Of Residence Session" of DEMANDE A LA POUSSIERE - post-hard-core band with black/depressive/tortured hints ...
So - strictly speaking - not really a "real" concert - but after all these restrictions, I don't really care, I take everything that comes ... more like a "warm-up" in order to present in good conditions, the work done during this residency period.. and also a preview of what the band's upcoming dates will be like in the coming weeks... As you have understood, DEMANDE A LA POUSSIERE is not the incarnation of happiness on stage, it's no "party music" where you can dance & jump everywhere in fluorescent outfits ... Musically it makes you suffocate, pulls you lower than the ground, it's oppressive and unhealthy as fuck... It's like you have to touch the bottom to better go up... Yes, DEMANDE A LA POUSIERE has this cathartic effect, they strike you down with blows of pachydermic riffs, stuffed with icy atmospheres.. and at the end.. it's as if you feel emptied of everything that's wrong with you... enjoyable !!!



To draw a parallel with other bands, we are MUSICALLY in my opinion somewhere between band slike Buried Inside, Neurosis, Cult Of Luna, Amenra but I'm also thinking of Godflesh - as well as another Parisian band called Brusque that I recommend by the way (#freepromotion - ed.) and others more "Black-metal" oriented ones like Mgla, UADA ... Also, there is the very interesting STAGE side - we feel that it has been worked hard and seeing them in "real" concert should keep all its promises... Already, the SOUND... cold and powerful... THIS bass sound, very "round" but of a breath-taking depth put me on the ass ! We clearly distinguish the different instruments .. it's LOUD, it's CLEAR and above all MASSIVE ! And this little plus very welcome, the VISUAL aspect, worked to-the-bone with sober lights, but always captivating as well as a projection of images - telling a story - in the background which plunges us a little more into the dark depths of the music... In short... it makes me want to see them (again) on stage for a real concert ! CONGRATULATIONS guys !!!



Otherwise... what a pleasure to be able to feel a LIVE experience with a REAL band on stage - feel live emotions ... share some drinks with friends and also meet new people, discuss about everything and nothing... 'Cos.. YES, the only way to feel the noise, it's still when It's GOOD and LIVE !
