Volcanic psych/punk trio RED SUN ATACAMA shares new track from their new album "Summerchild” due out March 13, 2026 !
Desert punk trio RED SUN ATACAMA drops a second bombshell: the video for the album “Summerchild,” made using live footage !
The new album “Summerchild” by Desert Punk Locos RED SUN ATACAMA is irradiated by the solar fuzz, acid riffs, and telluric percussion that characterize the project. Between psychedelic ritual, punk urgency, and incandescent desert rock, the eight tracks on “Summerchild” range from hypnotic ballads to relentless grooves and ultra-catchy riffs. All under the protective eye of the sun-oracle, which offers the Franco-Chilean combo the perfect outlet for their hectic daily lives.
Regarding the new track “Summerchild” and its video, Clément Marquez (bass/vocals) comments: "It's probably the most rock ‘n’ roll track on the album. It's a very direct, rather sunny track that marks a narrative turning point in the album, towards a kind of rebirth. It's a bit like the ‘phoenix’ song of the album! For the video, we went for something very personal: a montage of images taken from our last four years of touring, mixed with moments from the recording of the song at the Apiary this summer. A look back at how far we've come, and what it means to keep the band going after all this time." The video was directed by Nicolas Marciano.
RED SUN ATACAMA's new album “Summerchild” was recorded and mixed by Amaury Sauvé at The Apiary studio (Laval, France). Mastering by Thibault Chaumont at Deviant Lab studio (Poitiers, France). With Laurent McPake (Clegane) as guest vocalist on “Passenger.” Artwork by Nicolas Marciano. Released on March 13, 2026, by Mrs Red Sound.

Formed in 2014, the Bordeaux trio RED SUN ATACAMA combines desert psychedelia with punk rebellion. A wild, volcanic landscape, the Atacama Desert both fascinates and inspires the band. It literally captivates their sound and gives it an incomparable magnetism.
After self-producing their first EP, “Part 1,” in 2015, Red Sun Atacama released a bubbling debut album, “Licancabur,” in 2018 on More Fuzz Records. The record establishes the trio's unique style: raw and insolent.
For their second album, Red Sun Atacama signed with the Mrs Red Sound label (the label of the heavy psychedelic band Mars Red Sky) and hired Amaury Sauvé from The Apiary studio in Laval to work on the sound. “Darwin” will be released on June 17, 2022. The desert punk/stoner energy that emanates from the album captivated the specialized press, which was full of praise for it. The band was noticed by the booking agencies 3C and Bullet Seed, who welcomed them into their rosters.
Live, Red Sun Atacama manages to convey all the hypnotic fury of its studio efforts. They have the opportunity to share the bill with heavyweights of the international heavy rock scene such as Uncle Acid And The Dead Beats, Mars Red Sky, Planet of Zeus, and Slift. In 2024, they performed at influential festivals such as DesertFest Belgium and Hellfest, before joining Dopelord on tour throughout Europe as official support.
Red Sun Atacama's new album “Summerchild” will be released on March 13, 2026, on Mrs Red Sound.

Born 1969, grew up with the NWOBHM sounds, musically educated with cult french magazines that were ENFER and METAL ATTACK, definitely nailed to the style when "The Number Of The Beast" by IRON MAIDEN was released... From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI... and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)...
Passion & curiosity grew up as years went by ... Fate was SEALED... no turning back !
