You knew ROUGH TIMES as an online magazine—now you also have ROUGH TIMES PRODUCTIONS !
A while ago, I decided to expand the activity to include a few small, very underground productions...
I'm going to start with the CASSETTE format (what could be more underground than the cassette ? The format that started it all in the 80s, with demos, tape trading... BACK TO THE ROOTS!) by occasionally producing a band that is close to my heart !
For this first release, I am absolutely thrilled to be working with Austrian HC/PUNK band CIRQUE DE LA MERDE (which you can translate as CIRCUS OF SHIT/CIRCUS OF CRAP), who have kindly agreed to let me reissue the 10 tracks from their 2024 debut album “Favourite Season” on CASSETTE !
The band in his own words : "We from CIRQUE DE LA MERDE are super happy and feel honoured to get the chance to release our first full-length record on cassette tape - especially being the first output on Rough Times Productions! Having strong roots in DIY subculture all four of us, we deeply cherish this kind of format. Tapes were never gone, but in recent years they really seem to experience a sort of renaissance, especially in underground music. We hope you all are as pleased with the result as we are – Merci beaucoup Fabien for supporting and believing in us!"

This is, of course, a professionally duplicated cassette, with a 4-panel double-sided cover, printed on high-quality glossy paper, all wrapped in shrink wrap—excellent work for a superb result. More infos here.
