GASSED Announce Debut LP "Mental" To Be Released Via UPRISING Records, Share The Opening Single !

Queens-based hardcore punk band GASSED will release their debut full-length album, "Mental", on October 6 via Uprising Records.
The opening single, 'The Hand' is available from now on.
Formed in the summer of 2025 as a group of like-minded friends, GASSED determined to create aggressive music rooted in ’80s hardcore punk, d-beat, and fastcore, with a strong emphasis on high-energy live performances. The band features Micha (vocals), Logan (guitar), Marcus (bass), and Mark (drums).
One of the major milestones in GASSED’s history came with signing to Uprising Records following the label’s relaunch in 2024 after a ten-year hiatus. Known for releasing Fall Out Boy’s first record, Evening Out with Your Girlfriend, as well as hardcore classics such as Racetraitor’s Burn the Idol of the White Messiah and numerous influential releases throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Uprising now returns to the hardcore territory that defined much of its legacy with the upcoming release of Mental.
That return is fitting for GASSED, whose music is built around speed, aggression, and immediacy. “We keep our songs short and fast, built to hit like a punch in the face,” says the band. “We use big amps for maximum damage and play short songs for maximum aggression.” – underlines Uprising Records’ Sean Muttaqi.
Rather than following standard hardcore conventions, GASSED approaches the genre from its own perspective. “I like that GASSED keeps classic punk aspects sonically, in attitude, and in song structure and brings it to the more contemporary hardcore style,” explains Logan. The band also embraces a broader emotional range. “The music is as vulnerable as it is angry and political,” notes Micha. “We play with a sense of urgency and I think it’s something you need to see to really understand.”
Each member brings their own perspective to the writing process but with the same end goal in mind. “While we have a shared vision for the band, everybody brings their own style and inspiration, which really lends itself to creating something different.” Mark, for his part, calls himself “the D-beat guy,” while also citing artists outside hardcore – including Alanis Morissette, KISS, Warning, and Tom Waits – as important influences. Marcus, meanwhile, draws inspiration from Joe Lally, Matt Freeman, and Mike Watt in his bass playing as well as Neil Young because “he makes ugly sound beautiful” and all the music “that is full of lies but makes me feel honest.”
“By combining our diverse individual interests, the band stands out as unique in the landscape of our scene. It’s hardcore from New York, but it’s not necessarily New York Hardcore.”
"Mental" brings together GASSED’s creative approach, perspectives, and diverse inspirations. Captured by legendary New York hardcore producer Don Fury (Agnostic Front, Youth Of Today, Helmet) the album dives deep into themes of anger, despair, addiction, alienation, rage. As the owner of Uprising Records, Sean Muttaqi puts it, “From the personal to the political – this record is pure fire. Unhinged adrenaline-driven angst. Hardcore at its finest. Pure. Unadulterated. Unfiltered. Mental is exactly that. F*cking mental.”
