Please introduce yourself and let me know how it all began with the band ? And above all - WHY the need to form THIS band ?
Talking with Ben, vocalist of Warning Order. We're from Fayetteville NC. We got together by already having mutuals and using social media otherwise. Our current lineup is me on vocals, Brad and Evan on guitars, Drew on bass and Brandon on drums. I was in a few bands when I lived in Texas, including Blackhand. Evan also has plenty of band experience but for everyone else, this is their first. We felt our city was lacking in bands or a scene in general for hardcore. We also wanted to make friends and play cool shit.
Describe your sound and explain why I should listen to YOUR band at all cost ?
Our sound is really just a mix of stuff we like. Dancey here and heavy there. You should listen to us if you like hardcore.
Lyrical and musical inspirations/influences ? How important are the lyrics for you ? Are there any specific messages or thoughts you try to develop and share through your lyrics ?
Lyrically, I'm inspired by Incendiary and Bitter End. Musically our sound is inspired heavily by Slayer, Bay Area bands like Outta Pocket and Sunami, and other shit we listen to. My lyrics are important to me because they convey the way that I see the world. I just want people to think for themselves.
About your latest release ?
Our latest release is a short 3 song promo called '24 Promo. You can stream it pretty much anywhere that has music, it's on all platforms. We went for a more raw sound this time around. shoutout Ra at Kenneth Dixon Studios for doing the recording, mixing and mastering. The artwork was done by Jon (Mayor) Mayo.
Future plans ?
We don't really have any plans for the future right now. We have some shows lined up for now and then maybe a tour or two in the future.
Your most insane dream with the band would be ?
Our most insane dream for the band would be Sound & Fury and/or touring Japan and Southeast Asia..
Your BEST & WORST concert and why ?
Our best concert was probably Azúcar Fest in greenville, SC. We played with some rad bands, the crowd was having a great time and going crazy, it felt like our tightest set, and it was also our last time playing as a band. Our worst concert was when we played in Wilmington at The Place. The crowd was not down with any heavy moshing and would get pissed off at dudes doing it. Some dude snuck our drummer while he was moshing and broke his arm on purpose. Got called a bunch of fucked up slurs by teenagers. Cool set though.
Next live appearance(s) ?
Our next show right now is August 10th at Schoolkids Records in Raleigh with Wormosis and Deathmask (VA).
Some words on your local scene - bands you're friends with and you'd like to name ?
Our local scene is small but rad. There are shows most days of the week and new bands popping up left and right. Here's a fat ass list of bands we're cool with or like a lot that you should check out: Chained, Kill Card, Wormosis, Lucky Feeling, 3/8 (Three Eighths), Brass Tongue, Reviler, Such Cruelty, Knife Wound, Quiet, Rat Poison, Your Spirit Dies, and especially Dead Friends. RIP Zach Loftis.
Last word is yours..
Start a band. Think for yourself.
Born 1969, grew up with the NWOBHM sounds, musically educated with cult french magazines that were ENFER and METAL ATTACK, definitely nailed to the style when "The Number Of The Beast" by IRON MAIDEN was released... From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI... and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)... Passion & curiosity grew up as years went by ... Fate was SEALED... no turning back ! No Music = No Life !
