FALSE REALITY - Trust Nothing (Hard-Core - Interview with Rachel)
Express interview to help you discover as many of today's most interesting bands as possible - this time, FALSE REALITY, Hard-Core from England - Interview with Rachel (Vocals).

Hey ! Who am I talking with - Where are you from ?
I’m Rachel, I’m the vocalist and I’m from Essex.

How you met/teamed up ? What's the current line-up ? And above all - WHY the need to form THIS band ?
We’ve known each other for years through going to shows, and it just felt right when we decided to start up a project together as we’ve all got different tastes in music so it has helped define a new sound for us. Joe is on Bass, Makboo on Guitar and Louis on Drums. Couldn’t be doing it with better people.

Describe your sound and explain why I should listen to YOUR band at all cost ?
We are definitely a hardcore band at heart but we have pulled influences from punk, metal, thrash, new-wave and shoegaze which you can hear within our sound. If you like old Metallica, Trapped Under Ice, Sepultura, Deftones or Knocked Loose then hopefully you’ll like at least one of our songs.

Lyrical and musical inspirations/influences ? How important are the lyrics for you ? Are there any specific messages or thoughts you try to develop and share through your lyrics ?
We pull a lot of our musical influences from those I said previously, but regarding lyrics I don’t have any inspirations it will just come out onto the page. At the time (most of the time) I won’t have a clue what my lyrics are aiming at until a few months later and it’ll just click as to what I was writing about subconsciously. It’s great therapy.

About your latest release ?
We recorded the album ‘Path of Self Destruct’ back in January with Steve Sears JR. who was amazing and was a huge part of why we are so happy with the outcome. It’s currently available on tape and on all streaming platforms and will be available via vinyl soon.

Future plans ?
We’re getting back in the studio in September with some new songs we’ve written to get set for our next release along with a few more exciting announcements I can’t yet talk about - but we’re excited to be able to share everything when we can.

Your most insane dream with the band would be ?
Insane dream ? To play Ozzfest !

Your BEST & WORST concert and why ?
We haven’t had a ‘worst’ show as we do this to have fun and do something we’re passionate about so as long as we get to play and have a great time with people who enjoy our music, then we really never have a bad show. My personal favourite show of ours has to be our EP release show at Blondies. That was electric and something I’ll never forget.

FALSEREALITYlive

Next live-appearance(s) ?
We play our first mini-tour at the end of July where we’ll be hitting up Brighton, Reading and Manchester. We’re really looking forward to it.

Some words on your local scene - bands you're friends with and you'd like to name ?
London and Essex hardcore is thriving right now. Big up to the London/Essex bands Life of One and Raiden.

Last word is yours..

Born 1969, grew up with the NWOBHM sounds, musically educated with cult french magazines that were ENFER and METAL ATTACK, definitely nailed to the style when "The Number Of The Beast" by IRON MAIDEN was released... From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI... and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)... Passion & curiosity grew up as years went by ... Fate was SEALED... no turning back ! No Music = No Life !
