- Please introduce yourself and let me know how it all began with the band ?
Hi ! I'm Guillaume, guitarist from Clegane. We are a three piece Doom/Grunge band from Paris. The band itself goes back to 2015. The bass/lead vocal Laurent, Olivier drummer since 2020 and myself. Aside from this I sing/scream/grunt in a Death Metal band named TankrusT. But I felt the need to play some more intimate and depressing music. Laurent brought the grunge vibe ; we all fell into it since it was the only genre I swore back in my young days !
- Describe your sound and explain why I should listen to YOUR band at all cost ?
We have no pretention in saying our music is some new trend or unique sound. It's just some urge coming from the guts. Some spontaneous feeling that anyone listening might relate to. It explores the very core of ourselves , the dark places. Plus it mixes two genres that we realy love and want to communicate in one heavy trip. We want to build a journey going from sky to ground with thick smoke in between.
- Lyrical and musical inspirations/influences ? How important are the lyrics for you ? Are there any specific messages or thoughts you try to develop and share through your lyrics ?
The lyrics matter as much as our music. Laurent writes about things that are very personal, about his inner demons, his flaws, his frights, death, addiction, loneliness... Though these are things others could feel too. So there is no real message but to express and conjure these tainting feelings. We're all fucked after all...
- I know you're about to release a new album.. some words please ?
We are currently recording our new album that will be out in second half of 2025. We are recording drums with Andrew Guillotin from former Hybreed studio and the rest will be recorded and mixed by ODM from Point Mort.
It will be six songs that bring something new to our identity, maybe even more grungy. Since Olivier arrived just before recording "White of the Eye", he had little possibilities on that one. The next album is the very blend of the three of us. We want to put it out on Vinyl of course but we will have some CD's as well ! Of course you'll find it on every digital platforms.
- Future plans ?
Our primary goal is to play as many gigs as possible ! We love hitting the road, meeting cool people and sharing music. We're not here for fame, not here for money, 100% for bonding and having fun !
- Your most insane dream with the band would be ?
To attend some of the special events of the genre we are fond of such as Desert Fest, Westill, Up in Smoke, Sonic Blast ! Imagine the crowd, the communion !
- Your BEST & WORST concert - as a band - and why ?
We had loads of very cool gigs, each one with its special moment. This summer in Paris, in the street, we played only 15mn because of the rain but it was epic with the crowd going nuts, blocking trafic and climbing on cars to mosh !
Grand Paris Sludge was a very special moment where we shared the day with fucking awesome bands like Eyehategod and Witchthroat Serpent !
Worst one was definitely one of the last gigs we played with our former drummer, who was in a very dark place in 2019. We had an awful show in Lille where he just stopped playing... extremely awkward...
- Next live-appearance(s) ?
Watch out for April, we are playing some gigs with our friends from Red Sun Atacama ! Then we will be touring in May in the East/South-East of France !
- Some words on your local scene - bands you're friends with and you'd like to name ?
Our local scenes are very very vivid ! We thrive in its fraternal spirit and we all look out for each other. We shout out for our sisters and brothers from Cerbère, Brüle, Witchorious, Fatimà, Qilin and so many others !!
- Last word is yours..
Support your fuckin' local scene ! Go out there, discover, mosh, have fun, fall and stand back up. Live your life, don't watch it pass by !

Born 1969, grew up with the NWOBHM sounds, musically educated with cult french magazines that were ENFER and METAL ATTACK, definitely nailed to the style when "The Number Of The Beast" by IRON MAIDEN was released... From 1982, it was clear life would never be the same ! Young & getting wild to the HEAVY sounds of SAXON, VENOM, BLACK SABBATH, MOTORHEAD, Young Fab also discovered thanks to school mates the NOISE, FILTH & FURY of Hard-Core/Punk bands like G.B.H, DISCHARGE, BROKEN BONES but also CRO-MAGS, BAD BRAINS, FUGAZI... and later on, through the 90's, everything that was ALTERNATIVE, EXPERIMENTAL, GRUNGE, INDUSTRIAL (SONIC YOUTH, NINE INCH NAILS, SOUDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS)... Passion & curiosity grew up as years went by ... Fate was SEALED... no turning back ! No Music = No Life !
